This article was in the Norwegian paper VG (my translation):
Stellan Skarsgård`s son Gustaf (30) is going to be in the big Norwegian movie. His father confirms that.
(picture-text) SKARGÅRD-BROTHERS: Alexander Skarsgård is reading the «Kon-Tiki»-manuscript in Los Angeles. But it`s his brother Gustaf who now has a role in the Norwegian movie, according to father Stellan.
- Gustaf is going to be in the new «Kon-Tiki»-movie. He is going to play Swedish Bengt Danielsson, says daddy Stellan Skarsgård when VG met him in Trondheim at the Kosmorama-festival on Monday.
Bengt Danielsson was the only Swede on board of Heyerdahl`s «Kon-Tiki». He was an anthropologist and the translator in the expedition since he was the only one on board who spoke Spanish. Danielsson died in 1997, 75 years old.
The producer of the movie, Aage Aaberge, says he can neither confirm nor deny the news about Skarsgård`s part. The same says Skarsgård`s agency:
- You will have to see. We`ll know more next week, says Aleksandra Mandic in the agency Planthaber/Kildén/Mandic.
Secrecy
Gustaf Skarsgård is currently in Norwegian cinemas as a prisoner in one of Stalin`s Gulag-camps in Siberia in The Way Back. The 30 year old had his first movie role back when he was nine in 1989.
Since then he`s been in among others the major movies about Arn and the comedy success Patrik 1,5. Kon-Tiki will be his first major role in a Norwegian movie. He did have a small part in Torun Lian`s Ikke naken (Not Naked) from 2004. Gustaf is following in his father Stellan`s footprints. He has a lot of Norwegian movies on his resume – latest the critique acclaimed En Ganske snill mann (A Fairly Nice Man).
The secrecy around who is to play the major roles has been huge when it comes to Kon-Tiki, which is to be directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. The names have not been released yet but the casting is as good as ready.
There have been speculations around who is to play the leading role as Thor Heyerdahl for a long time. Gustaf Skarsgård`s brother, the True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård (34) was one of the names most mentioned and the hot guy was photographed on a café in Los Angeles while reading the script to Kon-Tiki.
He is, according to Aage Aaberge not in the run anymore and Joachim Rønning has confirmed that the choice fell on a Norwegian actor in the end.
- Heyerdahl is going to speak Norwegian in the movie. It`s been decided, Joachim Rønning said to VG Nett in December.
All the actors in Kon-Tiki are being presented on a press conference on the Kon-Tiki museum on Bygdøy Tuesday April 12th.
Kon-Tiki takes place in 1946-47 and is based on the expedition Thor Heyerdahl was the leader of. He wanted to confirm his theories about the migration in the Pacific Ocean. The movie will have a budget on around 90 million kroner.

Re: Gustaf in Kon-Tiki
I went to see this movie yesterday and it was a great movie. It was sold out here in Oslo even though they released it on half the cinemas in town - or so it seemed - so we were having problems getting ticket. We did manage at last and thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Gustaf Skarsgård had a very interesting role. He was the only Swede among Norwegians and he played a very odd character. His character had lived years in the Amazon jungle and when everyone else was scared or worried, he just walked around with a smile on his face, taking things as they came.
Gustaf Skarsgård is definitely a great actor - no doubt about it. And he chooses a different path than his older brother. He is, by far, no sex symbol in this movie. Which is probably not his intention either. He makes an impression, though, and I hope this movie will land him more interesting roles.
Unfortunately I`m not sure how well this movie will do internationally. It doesn`t explain much but takes for granted that people know the basic history of Thor Heyerdahl and Kon-Tiki - and how many non-Norwegians have that kind of knowledge?
But the movie is beautiful, the acting is great (loved how the actor playing Thor Heyerdahl spoke English with the same horrible accent Thor Heyerdahl did) and I can recommend it to anyone

I can't wait to see it! It sounds amazing and I find it very interesting following Gustaf's acting choices. Thanks for the review
