Born To Act
Acting since he was 9 years old, Gustaf has never shied away from either indie film projects or big budget productions.

Gustaf Skarsgård is the second oldest of veteran Stellan Skarsgård's eight children, but unlike his older brother Alexander, 33 year old Gustaf has not yet moved from Sweden. Instead, he visits other countries when offered parts in English, like in Peter Weir's The Way Back and in the new TV series Vikings. Like his father Stellan, he readily accepts parts in low-budget indie films he feels ought to be done, like upcoming relation drama Us, if he has a
well-paid part lined up, like in Norwegian mega production Kon-Tiki.

Gustaf made his début in short feature Spinken in 1989. As a 9 year old he played opposite his father Stellan in spy thriller Täcknamn Coq Rouge. Parts in a number of acclaimed TV series led to the first big part in a film, The Invisible from 2002, where he played a young man who is severely beaten and gets trapped in limbo; not alive, but not quite dead.

In Academy Award nominated film Evil he played the leader of the boarding school gang who bully the main protagonist. Since then, he's garnered critical acclaim for parts in TV series Bibliotekstjuven, the gay drama Patrik 1.5, and Björn Runge's dark drama Happy End. In 2007, he received a Guldbagge Award for actor in a leading role, for his part in youth film Kidz in da Hood.

Later in 2013, we'll see him playing a viking in lavish, American TV production Vikings, a part that he might discuss with elder brother Alexander, whose True Blood character Erik was a viking before being bitten and transformed into a vampire.
